From her State Park Collection - this is Acadia by Maine artist Sue Rioux. As dramatic as Maine's iconic state park, this handcrafted kaleidoscope has a body of blue stained glass and a turning, fluid-filled object case featuring glass beads, dichroic glass, sea shells, glittery items and even a lobster!
Glass rods adorn the corners, affixed using Sue's signature patina that she adds to all her soldering, resulting in a copper effect on the eyepiece end, four little feet, and other adornments.
Enjoy double kaleidoscopic pleasure - there are two mirror systems, a 2-mirror and a 3-mirror in this gorgeous kaleidoscope. This scope measures 7" long x 3-1/2" wide by and stands 2" high.
Acadia National Park is a 47,000-acre Atlantic coast recreation area primarily on Maine's Mount Desert Island. Its landscape is marked by woodland, rocky beaches and glacier-scoured granite peaks such as Cadillac Mountain, the highest point on the United States’ East Coast. Among the wildlife are moose, bear, whales and seabirds. The bayside town of Bar Harbor, with restaurants and shops, is a popular gateway.
