Kaleidoscope - 'Mandala' dry cell 10 point in Copper by Hiroshi Wakabayashi
This is Hiroshi Wakabayashi's handheld dry cell copper bodied kaleidoscope. The copper body of the scope is enhanced by torching the copper to create colorful heat patinas offering an antique look. The body is further enhanced with a series of colorful glass beads and stones set in a gold epoxy. Note: exact beads and stones may vary from photo.
The bright and colorful interior image is a 10 point mandala created with a 2 mirror system. The dry cell contents include tiny pieces of colorful glass and polarized beads.
This handcrafted Japanese kaleidoscope is 7-1/4" long, 1-3/4" wide at the object cell end and 1-3/4" wide at the eye piece end. A custom wooden base is included.
