Kaleidoscope - YamaKara a collaboration of Koji Yamami and Charles Karadimos (4/15)
YamaKara is one of two kaleidoscopes made in a 2014 collaboration of Koji Yamami and Charles Karadimos. The second kaleidoscope was named KaraYama and was sold in its entirety in 2014.
YamaKara #4 is a made with three sides of aqua fused glass assembled together in a tapered triangle shape atop a glass pyramid shaped dry object cell. The object cell contains pieces of lampworked glass in a variety of colors, with an emphasis on aquas and blues, that were made by both artists.
The interior image is created by an internal three mirror system offering a full field of beautifully soft images against a aqua background that results from the piece of swirled aqua stained glass used on the bottom of the kaleidoscope.
Signed by both artists and dated 2014, this kaleidoscope measures 9" tall by 4-1/2" on each side of the pyramid base.
