Kaleidoscope 'Impromptu' in Music Note lined Stained Glass by Joanne Jacobs
Joanne Jacobs created one side of her 'Impromptu' kaleidoscope from clear glass placed over a sheet of music (Frédéric Chopin's Fantaisie-Impromptu in C♯ minor), and decorated with a silver baby grand piano motif. This style is homage to her degree in Classical Performance and her former career as a professional pianist.
The back and bottom sides are made of black stained glass. The very vibrant interior images (or mandalas) are viewed through the isosceles 3-mirror system, which provides more points to those mandalas than an equilateral mirrors system kaleidoscope would have.
The oil cell is filled with beads, glass, shells, and metallic pieces, and finished with soldered metal caps. This kaleidoscope comes with its custom black stained glass base with a metal piano on one side and a g clef and quarter note on the other side. On its stand, the kaleidoscope measures 8" long x 2" wide x 4-1/2" tall.
