Kaleidoscope - La Playa in Stained Glass by Sue Rioux Designs

Shimmering golden sand colored stained glass with hints of pinks, greens and blues, forms the rectangular exterior of 'La Playa', another beautiful kaleidoscope handmade by Sue Rioux in her Kennebunkport, Maine studio.  Keeping with 'the beach' theme, Sue adorned 'La Playa' with a small sea shell on top.  Additionally, the turning oil filled barrel contains tiny sea shells, pieces of colorful dichroic film and beads and baubles in varying shades of blues representing the ocean waters.  

The interior mirror system of this scope is also unique as it features a reprint of one of Sue's own paintings creating a special interior aura surrounding the mandala.  Sue also added a small piece of dichroic glass which outlines the mandala with additional texture and color.
